AlQuds Alarabia published on Thursday an opinion poll showing that the Israeli attack on Gaza has strengthened Hamas’s popularity, it is the first that the Islamic Resistance Movement leads on it’s enemies from the Fatah movement if elections were held.
The poll showed that if legislative elections were held in the West Bank and Gaza, Hamas will win by 28,6% of the votes compared to 27.9% of the Fatah movement led by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, with the remaining votes distributed to less important parties.
Hamas and was also ranked first among the movements that have the confidence of the Palestinians with 27.7% support, followed by Fatah with 26%.(jmcc)
The head of the Hamas government, Ismail Haniyeh, is also the person who enjoys the greatest degree of confidence between the Palestinians with 21,1%, for the first time ahead of Abbas, who came in second with only 13,4%.
