Not much of a difference since Muslim extremists have not been known to have drawn much of a distinction between Israelis and Jews in general in the past. The question is arising who is behind the Attacks in Mumbai. Is it Al-Qaida? The fact that the terrorists traveled to Mumbai by boat; that they numbered about sixty; that they had large quantities of weapons; and that they had been able to mount a coordinated attack on at least nine targets, all points to a global jihad operation. But their is no solid proof right now.

Certainly, the terrorists appeared to be Muslim extremists. Although they must have assumed they were going to be killed even though they took hostages, the attackers were not suicide bombers, overt martyrs of the kind we have witnessed elsewhere – in London, Iraq, and now in Afghanistan – since the 9/11 attacks on the US.
