Hamas lays out 3 conditions for the release of Gilad Shalit
Friday, September 19th, 2008Hamas will not renew negotiations for the release of abducted Israel Defense Forces soldier Gilad Shalit unless Israel meets its preconditions, the London-based newspaper Asharq Alawsat quoted a senior official of the Islamist group as saying Friday. (Haaretz)
1. Release of all Palestinian prisoners whose names appear on the list that had been given to Israel via Egyptian mediation.
2. Implementation of all Israeli commitments in the framework of the ceasefire agreement, including the reopening of Gaza Strip crossings for the passage of goods.
3. Implementation of all Israeli commitments in the framework of the ceasefire agreement.
Israel should leave all border closed, stop transfering money to the Hamas or any other Palestinian orgenization and stop delivering goods to the Gaza strip. This way they would put enormous pressure on Hamas and Israel could set the condition for the release of Gilad Shalit.
