Mumbai Terrorist Attack provoked by the Jews…

Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008

The online Times of London published an appalling statement regarding the Chabad House murders in Mumbai.

Irrelevant to the rest of the article is the inclusion of a statement attributed to one T. K. Bhat who allegedly lives near the Chabad House, outrageously suggesting that the Jews brought the attacks upon themselves.

It could be that the attitudes of the Chabad, which gives the sense of an elite club for Jews alone, is part of what provoked the terrorists to target them for the attack.

Fatah

Monday, September 29th, 2008

The Movement for the National Liberation of Palestine, known as FATAH, was founded by Yasser Arafat and others in the early 1960s. “FATAH” is a reverse acronym of the Arabic, Harekat at-Tahrir al-Wataniyyeh al-Falastiniyyeh. The word “Fatah” means “conquest by means of jihad [Islamic holy war]“.

The FATAH emblem demonstrates its dedication to the “armed struggle” against Israel, including its civilians, as the crossed rifles and grenade are superimposed on the map of Israel.

Initially opposed to the founding of the PLO, the FATAH movement was responsible for dozens of terrorist raids against Israeli civilian targets in the 1960s and 1970s. The growing popularity of FATAH resulted in its taking control of the PLO in 1968. It has been the PLO’s most prominent faction under the direct control of the late Chairman Yasser Arafat.

Cells of FATAH-affiliated terrorists have formed what is now known as the Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades. They emerged after the start of the second Intifada in October, 2000 and have attacked both Israeli civilian and military targets. At least five US citizens have been killed in Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades’ attacks.

In January 2002, Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades also claimed responsibility for the first suicide bombing carried out by a woman. Another faction within FATAH, the Fatah-Tanzim, has also been connected with terrorist activities against Israeli targets.

The Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades was first designated a Foreign Terrorist Organization in 2002 and continues to be so designated through 2005.

The FATAH and/or the Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades have claimed responsibility or were found to be responsible for the deaths and injuries caused to numerous plaintiffs in the Linde, et al. v. Arab Bank, Plc and Coulter, et al. v. Arab Bank, Plc lawsuits.

While performing as a singer, Aharon Ben-Yisrael Ellis was one of five people shot to death when a Fatah terrorist opened fire with an assault rifle on 180 individuals in a banquet hall on January 17, 2002;

Plaintiffs Shayna Gould and Shoshana Zelcer were victims of a shooting attack by an Al Aqsa martyrs Brigade terrorist at a crowded bus stop on January 22, 2002;

Plaintiffs Mark and Rena Sokolow and their two daughters sustained injuries, along with over 150 other people on January 27, 2002 when female suicide bomber, Wafa Idris, detonated her explosives.

Hamas

Monday, September 29th, 2008

HAMAS was formed in late 1987 as an outgrowth of the Palestinian branch of the Muslim Brotherhood during the first Palestinian Intifada which began in 1987 and continued through 1993. HAMAS is an acronym of Harakat al-Muqawamah al-Islamiyya, which in Arabic means “Islamic Resistance Movement.” HAMAS has executed large-scale suicide bombings and other terrorist attacks in pursuit of its goal: the destruction of Israel and the establishment an Islamic Palestinian state in its place.

The U.S. State Department first designated HAMAS a Foreign Terrorist Organization in 1997, and it continues to be so designated through 2005.

Since September, 2000, HAMAS has been responsible for at least 321 successful attacks in Israel, which have resulted in the deaths of 381 people and have injured 1,649 others.

The group’s leadership is dispersed throughout the Gaza Strip and West Bank, with a few senior leaders residing in Damascus, Syria and elsewhere. Iran and Islamic “charities” are among the primary sources of financing to the terrorist organization.

HAMAS has claimed responsibility or was found to be responsible for the deaths and injuries caused to numerous plaintiffs in the Linde, et al. v. Arab Bank, Plc and Coulter, et al. v. Arab Bank, Plc lawsuits. Following are only a few of the many victims:

Steven Averbach, one of the initial plaintiffs in the Linde, et al. v. Arab Bank, Plc case, was grievously injured when a suicide bomber detonated his explosives on a commuter bus in 2003;

Janis Ruth Coulter, age 36, Diane Carter, age 38, Benjamin Blutstein, age 25, and David Gritz, age 24 were killed in the bombing at the Hebrew University cafeteria that occurred on July 31, 2002. Many others were also killed and injured in the attack.

The Sbarro Pizzeria Massacre on August 9, 2001 resulted in the death of Judith Greenbaum, age 31; plaintiff Chana Nachenberg remains in a permanent vegetative state since the attack.

The Nathansen family lost their daughter Tehilla as a result of a suicide bombing on a bus on August 9, 2003; Several other members of the Nathansen family sustained injuries as well.
